Our Hatfield clients needed a permanent home office after shifting to hybrid working — the kitchen table was no longer viable, and they wanted a room with proper daylight, acoustic separation, and space for video calls without background noise from the rest of the house.
We converted the existing loft with two rooflights positioned over the desk area and a Velux balcony window for ventilation. Acoustic insulation was specified between the loft floor and the rooms below, with a solid-core door at the landing for additional sound separation.
Built-in desk joinery runs the full width of the gable end, with cable management concealed behind panels and shelving for reference materials. The result is a focused workspace that feels professional, calm, and entirely separate from family life downstairs.
